Fiction and Confectionery

Willy Wonka was created by Roald Dahl for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, published in 1964.
Real Wonka confectionery existed before the key Nestlé UK range: Quaker Oats helped finance the 1971 film partly to promote a Wonka Bar.
The fictional character and later licensed products should not be treated as the same thing.

Documented UK Ranges

The 2005 Nestlé Rowntree range included Whipple-Scrumptious Fudgemallow Delight, Nutty Crunch Surprise and Triple Dazzle Caramel.
It also included gift products and a Golden Ticket competition.
Nestlé UK announced a distinct 2013 relaunch with Millionaire’s Shortbread, Chocolate Nice Cream and Crème Brûlée.

Withdrawal and Ownership

Trade reporting said Nestlé would end Wonka bar production in the UK and Ireland in summer 2014.
Nestlé says it sold the Wonka confectionery brand to Ferrero in March 2018.
